2014

I said multiple times that 2014 was our year. Well, we paid off all our debt, both got new cars, and are only a few months away from buying a house. I am so excited for all the adventures that 2015 will bring! So far I’ve eaten a big breakfast, taken a nap, and started watching Gilmore Girls again. Great start.

friday saturday sunday monday

Apparently, this blog is turning into weekly updates. This past Friday was the first time in weeks we didn’t have something going on. I went to bed around 10pm with no shame in my game. Sleeping in is the best, until your boyfriend’s alarm goes off at 6:45am because he wants to watch soccer. I spent Saturday afternoon at Linda’s lingerie shower. Why you need a party for people to buy you sex clothes, I’ll never understand. But, I digress….

For some reason I was just out of it yesterday. I had no desire to do anything but lay in bed and watch Netflix. Luckily, I have one of the best guys ever invented and he catered to my laziness. He washed all of our clothes for the week and kept checking on me. Seriously, this guy is the greatest.

Today, I drew up our joint application to open up a new investing account. Debt is paid, time to save. I am so excited! House, here we come.

Aloha

We were invited to a small dinner at Danny’s house for his birthday. It was filled with good food, shiner, and tequila shots. What up, Tuesday? It was fun hanging out with the soccer boys. Hopefully we will do that again soon. Minus someone breaking their leg.

Monday

Rachel and Adrian were both out of the office today and it was heaven. Great way to start my week. We had leftover steaks that Michael grilled Sunday night. Just as good the next day. I made macaroni as a side yesterday and forgot how much I love that stuff. I can’t remember the last time I’ve had it. Tonight I baked potatoes in the oven, turned out good, too! Nothing like a steak and baked potato.

After Friday.

One of Michael’s soccer teammates was having a 30th birthday party and invited us. Unfortunately, we got a text right as I finished my makeup saying the party was cancelled. Birthday boy aka Danny had to rush his little boy to the emergency room. He broke his leg! Whaaaaaaat! He’s only 3 and had to have surgery. I’ve seen pictures of him in his cast and it might be one of the saddest things, ever.

I was already dressed and didn’t want to waste my makeup around the house so Michael took me to a Caribbean restaurant he’s been wanting to try. Delicious rum punches! We went way out of our box and ordered shark as an appetizer (good, a little salty) and curry goat as our entree. It was shockingly great. It was served with this thin tortilla wrapped around smushed peas. Sounds crazy, but I will be going there again at some point. Shout out, Island Spice!

Fridayyyy

We weren’t sure if we were going to go out or not. I was back and forth about it until about 9:30 when Jon called and said they were kid free. We got ready and met them in Cinco Ranch. We hung out at World of Beers which was really cool. So many beers to choose from! Somehow, after the next bar and the taco truck on the way home, it was 4 am. Not sure how that happened, but it was a good time.

W. U.

Friday- A good friend from Dallas came into town for a visit. We had some quality happy hour time catching up on Washington. I was highly intoxicated by 8:30. Yikes.

Saturday- Dropped off some baked goods to Christina as I picked up Celina from my parents house. Spend the afternoon/evening at Jon’s house grilling lobster, tenderloin, sausage, and lots of other goodies. The kids played and the adults drank. Is this a taste of Mexican parenting?

Sunday- explored the new Marketplace Kroger by our house. Things like this really make me feel like I’m in my late twenties. Dinner and House of Cards.

Adios.

Betty Crocker.

I made delicious blueberry muffins from scratch. However, something happened to my batch today and they didn’t cook through entirely. I tried baking them longer and nothing worked. I would have had a mini break down, but I also made cream cheese banana bread that was spectacular. I’ll consider the muffins a wash.

I hope I didn’t lose my touch.

Lemonade

There is this married couple that work out at crossfit. I usually workout with the husband and he brings their adorable daughter, Zooey. She is seriously one of the cutest little girls I’ve ever met and she’s so sweet. Today she set up a lemonade stand. At 25 cents a cup, this little girl was making a killing in tips. She said she needed money for gum. She informed me she wouldn’t be back until Sunday because she was going out of town for a wedding. She will be back to work Monday so I could get more lemonade then. She’ll be getting lots of my dollars.

RAW

I’m surprised to say that last night was a blast. The highlight of my evening was hearing the little kids shouting “this is awesome” and trying to start crowd chants. It was so cool seeing my divas in person. Some of these people have real skill.

Can’t wait for Brie Bella to take on Stephanie at Summer Slam. Wait, did I just say that? Who am I?
